After Hours: Uday Sodhi, EVP and digital head, Sony LIV and Sony Entertainment
1The job: Fast-paced digital businesses are what I have been involved with for the last 14-odd years of my career. I enjoy working in fast-growing, competitive markets that bring out the best in terms of creativity and execution. Working at Sony LIV gives me the opportunity to participate in the fast-growing mobile entertainment space. This is the era of mobile entertainment, and the mobile is fast replacing the desktop, driven by today’s multi-screenagers.
2The weekdays: The work day usually begins around 8.30 am. The drive from home to my office is around one hour and I use this time to catch up on e-mails, news and industry updates on my iPad. Also, like a lot of commuters I too end up doing a lot of phone calls during this time. Once in office the normal day takes over, involving internal and external meetings.
3The weekend: I devote my weekends to spending time with my family, watching movies, eating out or generally trying my hands at cooking up some great dishes.
4The toys: My smartphone Sony Xperia Z3 has a good storage and battery life and I use my iPad for music and the internet. My life revolves around them.
5The logos: I am usually not so fussy about clothes. I prefer easy, simple casuals or informals – Color Plus and other simple whites and blues on weekdays. On weekends, it’s mostly Cotton World and Fab India.
