Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has announced significant financial aid of Rs 15 crore each for the states of Kerala and Tripura, which have been severely affected by heavy rains, landslides, and floods. The decision underscores Chhattisgarh’s solidarity with the disaster-hit regions and its commitment to providing support during times of crisis.

The announcement was made public through a post on X (formerly Twitter) by the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), which highlighted that the funds will be allocated from Chhattisgarh’s Disaster Relief Fund. The financial assistance aims to aid the ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts in the affected areas, where the natural calamities have resulted in significant loss of life, damage to property, and disruption of normal life.

Chief Minister Sai expressed his deep concern over the widespread destruction caused by the natural disasters in Kerala and Tripura. “In the last few days, we have received sad news about the loss of lives and property on a large scale due to natural calamities in Tripura and Kerala. My sympathies are with the disaster-affected people. The Chhattisgarh government is ready to help both states in this adverse situation,” Sai stated in his post.

The recent floods and landslides in Kerala and Tripura have devastated numerous communities, with many people displaced, homes destroyed, and infrastructure damaged. In response, various state governments, along with the central government, have been mobilising resources to provide relief and restore normalcy. Chhattisgarh’s contribution adds to the collective efforts being made across the country to assist the affected states in overcoming the challenges posed by these natural disasters.

The financial aid from Chhattisgarh is expected to be utilized for immediate relief measures, including the provision of food, shelter, and medical assistance to those affected. It will also contribute to the longer-term rehabilitation of the affected regions, helping them rebuild and recover from the devastation.

This gesture of support by Chhattisgarh reflects the spirit of unity and cooperation among Indian states, particularly in times of crisis. As Kerala and Tripura continue to grapple with the aftermath of the floods and landslides, the aid from Chhattisgarh will provide much-needed relief and bolster the ongoing efforts to assist those in need.
