Eight Naxalites have been arrested from three different places in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district, police said on Wednesday.
According to officials, six Naxal cadres were apprehended from the Chintalnar police station area, while one each was taken into custody from the Konta and Chintagufa police station limits on Tuesday, PTI reported.
The arrests were part of a joint operation conducted by the District Reserve Guard (DRG), the 165th and 150th battalions of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), and the 201st battalion of CoBRA (Commando Battalion for Resolute Action, an elite CRPF unit), along with the district police, he added.
The detained cadres, all male, are aged between 20 and 55, according to the official. Items seized from those arrested in Chintalnar included detonator wires, firecrackers, detonators, cordex wire (commonly used in explosives), and Maoist banners.
This operation follows another on October 28, when 19 Naxalites were arrested from two locations in Sukma, a district in the insurgency-affected Bastar region.
