Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA in G Lasya Nanditha died in a road accident in Hyderabad. She was 36. The tragedy took place at around 5 30 AM today when the politician’s vehicle, a Maruti XL6 car, she was travelling in hit a metal crash barrier on the Outer Ring Road (ORR), leading to her death on the spot. Her driver is critical and is being treated at a private hospital.
Lasya’s father and BRS MLA G Sayanna had pased away in February last year due to ill health.
On February 13 of this year, Lasya Nanditha was involved in an accident while traveling back to Hyderabad from a public meeting held by BRS in Nalgonda. Although, she fortunately sustained only minor injuries, a Home Guard lost their life in the incident.
Who was Lasya Nanditha?
Following the death of her father G Sayanna, a five-time MLA from the Secunderabad (Cantonment) constituency, Nanditha was given the ticket to contest in the November Assembly elections.
She won from the seat defeating BJP’s Ganesh N by 17,169 votes.
Born in 1986 in Hyderabad, she started her political stint about 10 years ago. She was a former corporator in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation from the Kavadiguda division.
Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, BRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao, state BJP president G Kishan Reddy and several Telangana ministers and leaders condoled the death of the young legislator.
Meanwhile, police said that probe is underway the case.
