A Bengaluru-based entrepreneur and CEO is facing backlash over her controversial social media post. Anuradha Tiwari, CEO of content writing company JustBurstOut, shared a photo of herself flexing her biceps with the caption “Brahmin Genes.” Tiwari is a vocal critic of caste-based reservations and advocates for a “One Family, One Reservation” policy. Her X bio reflects her stance on the issue.

In previous posts, Tiwari, who is also a TEDx speaker, has voiced her frustration with the reservation system. In an August 2022 post, she wrote, “I am a general category student. My ancestors have passed me down 0.00 acres of land. I live in a rented house. I couldn’t get admission despite scoring 95%, while my classmate with a 60% score and a well-off family did. And you ask me why I have a problem with reservation?”
Recently, Tiwari has urged the general category to unite within five years, warning that failure to do so might lead to reservations in the private sector.
Her “Brahmin genes” post, however, has sparked significant controversy, amassing 1.3 million views in a single day. Critics have accused her of promoting casteism and insensitivity.
“Precisely why casteism persists! Being fit is admirable, but attributing it to superior genes is not how we build a unified India,” commented Supreme Court advocate Shashank Ratnoo.
“Typical of someone who opposes reservation while flaunting their caste,” another user remarked.
One user pointed out the irony, saying, “According to Manusmriti, girls should stay at home and serve their husbands, but thanks to the constitution, you’re flexing on Twitter and living life your way. So thank Babasaheb Ambedkar for that!”
Another user agreed, stating, “We owe our ability to work out and live freely to Dr. Ambedkar and other progressive voices who fought for our rights.”
