Several coaches of the Mumbai-Howrah Mail’s got derailed in Jharkhand’s Seraikela-Kharsawan district on Tuesday. According to West Singhbhum DC, two people have died and 20 passengers have been reported injured so far. The incident happened at 03.45 am near Badabamboo, which is 80 km far from Jamshedpur and falls under the Chakradharpur Division of South Eastern Railway.
The South Eastern Railway senior official stated, “Medical aid has been provided at the site. All the injured passengers are now been shifted to Chakradharpur for additional medical treatment.” He further informed that the rescue operations drive is currently underway.
According to a local administration official, the incident happened between two trains- The Mumbai-Howrah Mail and a goods train. The authorities are currently conducting an assessment of the situation and the injured. The derailment was reported from Potobeda in the Kharsawan block of the Seraikela-Kharsawan district and has been confirmed by the local authority.
