Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Vadodara-Bharuch section of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, marking a significant advancement in Gujarat’s infrastructure landscape. This inauguration is part of a broader initiative encompassing various developmental projects across sectors like road, rail, energy, and more.
Enhanced Connectivity and Economic Growth
The 87 km stretch of the Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway was inaugurated in three packages, aiming to enhance connectivity between major economic hubs and ensuring smoother journeys for commuters. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari highlighted that these segments interlink major logistics hubs in Vadodara, promising considerable economic development in Bharuch and Ankleshwar regions.

Boosting Local Agriculture and Wildlife Protection
Gadkari emphasised the project’s focus on enhancing local agriculture by enabling farmers to achieve better value for their products. Additionally, precautionary measures such as underpasses, culverts, and chain-link fences have been incorporated to mitigate potential impacts on wildlife.
Government’s Industrial Commitment
During his visit, PM Modi laid the foundation stone for the first PM Mega Integrated Textile Regions and Apparel (MITRA) Park at Vansi Borsi village in Navsari, underscoring the government’s commitment to fostering industrial growth in the region.

State Government’s Priority on Road Infrastructure
The completion of three sections of the Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway totaling 86 km reflects the state government’s priority of building a robust road network. These sections have been constructed with significant investments, facilitating smoother and faster transportation across Gujarat.
Public Engagement and Government Achievements
PM Modi engaged with the public through a mega roadshow in Navsari district and participated in various events, including the Golden Jubilee celebration of the Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation in Ahmedabad. He highlighted the government’s achievements, including the construction of four crore houses for the underprivileged.

Political Discourse and Vision for the Future
Taking aim at the opposition, particularly the Congress party, PM Modi criticised their lack of substantive agenda beyond personal attacks. He expressed confidence in the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) prospects in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, emphasising their determination to secure more than 400 seats in the parliament.
