These initiatives aim to enhance the quality of life for the local population, ensuring seamless traffic flow and improving the efficiency of freight transportation.
Phagwara-Hoshiarpur Connectivity Upgrade
The construction of a 4-lane section, including Phagwara and Hoshiarpur bypasses, will establish a high-speed connectivity of 100 kmph between Phagwara and Hoshiarpur, slashing travel time from 1 hour to a mere 30 minutes. This development not only enhances connectivity but also reduces congestion in urban areas.
Ludhiana’s Strategic Bypasses
The 4-lane Ladowal Bypass in Ludhiana, connecting GT Road and National Highway 5, will directly link Ludhiana-Ferozepur Highway to the Delhi-Jalandhar Highway (National Highway 44). This strategic connection is expected to alleviate traffic challenges and further streamline transportation.
Enhancing Safety and Connectivity
The 4-laning of the Talwandi Bhai to Firozpur section and Firozpur bypass will significantly improve connectivity, ensuring safer and faster movement on the country’s highways. The projects are also anticipated to boost access to religious pilgrimage sites and enhance inter-state connectivity within the designated project areas.
Future Road Connectivity Projects
Gadkari announced additional road connectivity projects, including the construction of a 45 km, 4-lane bypass at Mukerian, Dasuiya, and Bhogpur on the Jalandhar to Pathankot route, costing Rs 1600 crore, and a 30 km, 4-lane bypass from Tanda to Hoshiarpur for Rs 800 crore.
