Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, the facelift of Phillaur Railway Station in Punjab is going on at a fast pace. Once all work is done, the station will provide ‘modern facilities’ to the passengers, said the Ministry of Railways, on Friday.
“As part of the #AmritStations scheme, the redevelopment of Phillaur Junction Railway Station in Punjab is progressing rapidly. Once completed, the station will provide modern facilities to enhance passenger convenience and comfort,” tweeted the ministry.
In Jalandhar district, Phillaur Junction is an important railway station. It serves Phillaur city. Its station code is PHR. The station has three platforms and five railway tracks.

Under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, Indian Railways has embarked on the task of redevelopment of 1309 railway stations across India. Out of these, 30 railway stations (including Phillaur Junction Railway Station) will be transformed in India’s Punjab state.
