In a bid to enhance infrastructure and improve safety, Central Railway will implement special traffic and power blocks at Karjat station for the dismantling of portals, part of the ongoing Karjat yard modification project. The work will take place on January 19, 2025 (Sunday), and will result in changes to train services during the block period.
Details of the Block
The traffic block will begin at 11:20 hrs and end at 13:05 hrs. Affected sections include the UP and Mid line between Palasdhari (excluding crossovers) and Karjat stations, and the UP and DOWN lines between Karjat (including crossovers) and Chok/Bhivpuri stations (excluding crossovers).
Regulation of Mail and Express Trains: During the block, several trains will be regulated to avoid disruptions:
- Train No. 11014 Coimbatore-LTT Express will be regulated at Lonavala from 11:30 hrs to 12:40 hrs.
- Train No. 12493 Pune-Hazrat Nizamuddin AC Express and Train No. 12164 Chennai-LTT Express will be regulated within the Pune division and handed over at Lonavala from 12:50 hrs onwards.
Suburban Train Adjustments: Suburban services between Neral and Khopoli will remain cancelled during the block. Additionally:
- Karjat-Khopoli locals departing Karjat at 12:00 hrs and 13:15 hrs, and Khopoli-Karjat locals departing Khopoli at 11:20 hrs and 12:40 hrs will be cancelled.
- CSMT-Karjat locals departing CSMT from 09:27 hrs to 11:14 hrs will be short-terminated at Neral.
- Karjat-CSMT locals departing Karjat from 11:19 hrs to 13:00 hrs will be short-originated from Neral.
