The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has announced that it has completed a 210-meter-long prestressed concrete (PSC) bridge in the ongoing Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train project.

The PSC bridge, having spans of 40, 65, 65, and 40 meters, passes through one of the busiest sections of the Delhi-Chennai National Highway (NH 48). It is located at Navsari, Gujarat, between the Surat and Bilimora stations of the Bullet Train project.

This is the second PSC balanced cantilever bridge that has been completed on the highway using the span by span (SBS) method. The bridge, spanning a total length of 210 meters, consists of 72 precast segments arranged in four spans—two measuring 40 meters and two measuring 65 meters—over the traffic lanes on either side of the highway. The NHSRCL announced that the bridge was completed on Wednesday.

“The Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train corridor is crossing over NH-48, passing through Gujarat and Maharashtra, at Sisodra village, Navsari district, Gujarat through elevated viaduct. This 210 meter long bridge is the second PSC box-segmental bridge completed over the highway by Balanced Cantilever method. This bridge is located between Billimora and Surat Bullet Train station,” NHSRCL said.

Earlier in August, the NHSRCL had also completed the PSC bridge at Amadpore village in Navsari.
