In a significant move aimed at improving passenger comfort and safety, 90 energy-efficient escalators are set to be installed across all 12 stations of India’s first bullet train corridor, the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail (MAHSR) project. These escalators will feature advanced safety mechanisms to ensure rapid response in case of emergencies, marking a major upgrade in infrastructure standards.

The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) shared this update, emphasizing that the first set of these energy-efficient escalators will be installed at Anand Station, highlighting the commitment to modernizing passenger amenities at the bullet train stations.

Anand Station to Lead the Way with First Installation

Anand station, a key stop along the high-speed rail route, will be the first to receive these state-of-the-art escalators. Known for its modern design inspired by the city’s identity as the “Milk City of India,” the station will be fitted with cutting-edge escalators that prioritize energy efficiency.

The escalators will include modern safety features such as automatic halt systems in case of obstructions and emergency stop buttons for swift responses. This initiative highlights the project’s commitment to providing both a safe and sustainable travel experience for passengers.

The Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train, which will significantly cut travel time between the two cities, is expected to transform India’s rail network, bringing in faster and more comfortable travel options. These escalators are just one of the many features that will make the bullet train stations a benchmark for future railway infrastructure in the country.
