The Indian Railways is all set to introduce two new Vande Bharat trains on the Karnataka rail route. According to the announcement made by the South Western Railway on Saturday, Karnataka will receive two new Vande Bharat trains, including one for the Kalyan Karnataka region – Kalaburagi- SMVT Bengaluru-Kalaburagi Vande Bharat Express and Mysuru- Dr. MGR Central (Chennai) Vande Bharat Express. 

The two new trains will be flagged off by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday (March 12). Notably, with the addition of these two additions, the total number of Vande Bharat trains in Karnataka will rise to seven. The officials believe that the introductions of two new pairs of trains will benefit lakhs of commuters in the southern state and save a significant amount of time. 

PM Modi to launch 10 new Vande Bharat trains

PM Modi is set to flag off ten new Vande Bharat trains on Tuesday, namely – Ahmedabad-Mumbai Central, Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam, Mysuru- Dr. MGR Central (Chennai),  Patna- Lucknow, New Jalpaiguri-Patna, Puri-Visakhapatnam, Lucknow – Dehradun, Kalaburagi – Sir M Visvesvaraya Terminal Bengaluru, Ranchi-Varanasi, Khajuraho- Delhi (Nizamuddin).

Kalaburagi-SMVT Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express

The Kalaburagi-SMVT Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express (Train No. 22231) is scheduled to depart from Kalaburagi at 5:15 am and arrive at SMVT Bengaluru at 2 pm every day except Fridays. Along the route, the train will make stops at Raichur, Mantralayam Road, Guntakal, Anantapur, and Yelahanka.

Conversely, the SMVT Bengaluru-Kalaburagi Vande Bharat Express (Train No. 22232) will commence its journey from SMVT Bengaluru at 2:40 pm and reach Kalaburagi at 11:30 pm daily except Thursdays.

Mysuru-MGR Chennai Vande Bharat Express

The Vande Bharat Express operating between Mysuru and MGR Chennai (Train No. 20663) is scheduled to depart from Mysuru at 6:00 am and reach MGR Chennai at 12:20 pm every day except Wednesdays. During its journey, the train will make stops at Mandya, SMVT Bengaluru, Krishnarajapuram, and Katpadi.

Conversely, the MGR Chennai-Mysuru Vande Bharat Express (Train No. 20664) will commence its journey from MGR Chennai at 5:00 pm and arrive at Mysuru at 11:20 pm daily except Wednesdays.

Until the maintenance facility at Mysuru is commissioned, the train will operate between SMVT Bengaluru and MGR Chennai Central. However, starting from April 5th, the train will run regularly between Mysuru and MGR Chennai Central as per the aforementioned timings, according to railway officials.
