Good news for rail passengers! Indian Railways has extended the services of Uttar Pradesh’s second Vande Bharat Express train. The Railway Board has given the approval of the extension of this semi-high speed train which presently runs between Lucknow and Gorakhpur Junction railway station. This is also the country’s 25th new age train. It is being operated and maintained by the North Eastern Railway (NER) zone.
New route of Lucknow-Gorakhpur Junction Vande Bharat Express:-
The services of Lucknow-Gorakhpur Junction-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express has been extended upto Prayagraj Junction. The train was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 07, 2023. This is also the first new age train for the NER zone.
Distance and Travel Time of Prayagraj-Gorakhpur Junction-Prayagraj Vande Bharat Express:-
The Prayagraj-Gorakhpur Junction-Prayagraj Vande Bharat Express will cover a distance of 355 km in seven hours and 25 minutes. This will be the fastest train on the route followed by LTT-GKP Superfast Express and Chaurichaura Express. Both the trains cover the same distance in 07:30 hrs and 09:05 hrs respectively.
Frequency and Coach Composition of Prayagraj-Gorakhpur Junction-Prayagraj Vande Bharat Express:-
The train number 22549/22550 Gorakhpur-Prayagraj-Gorakhpur Vande Bharat Express will run six days a week except Saturday. The train is composed of eight coaches – AC Chair Car and Executive Chair Car. It will have a capacity of 530 passengers.
Significance of Prayagraj-Gorakhpur-Prayagraj Vande Bharat Express:-
Uttar Pradesh’s second Vande Bharat Express will boost the tourism as well as economic growth of the region. The passengers will be able to visit many pilgrimage and historical places such as Gorakhnath Math, Veer Bahadur Singh Planetarium, Ramgarh Taal in Gorakhpur. It will also give fillip to business, trade and commerce.
