National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has come up with three possible routes to integrate Greater Noida and Greater Noida West with the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS). The selected route will connect with the proposed RRTS from Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor to the Jewar Airport, extending from Siddharth Vihar in Ghaziabad to the airport via Char Murti Chowk (Gaur Chowk) in Greater Noida West.

Following a survey of three proposed routes, the CEO of Greater Noida Authority, N G Ravi Kumar, has initiated a joint team comprising officials from the authority and NCRTC to select one route within a week, reported IE.

Alternative RRTS Route Suggestions:

During a recent meeting, officials proposed three alternative routes from Char Murti Chowk. These are:

Route via Noida Airport: Proposed from Char Murti Chowk on a 130-meter wide road to Noida Airport via the authority office and Pari Chowk.

Route via Greater Noida West: Suggested to traverse a 60-meter road from Greater Noida West.

Route via Knowledge Park-5, Surajpur, and Kasna: Proposed from Char Murti Chowk to Noida Airport via Knowledge Park-5, Surajpur, and Kasna.

The authority will present a utility report on the route, while NCRTC will prepare a detailed route report to be submitted for finalization. The selection of route is really important as the right decision could alleviate traffic and congestion issues for the residents of Greater Noida.

Rapid rails, operating at speeds three times faster than Metro trains, will have a maximum operation speed of 160 km/hour, promising efficient transportation.

Among the eight identified RRTS corridors in the National Capital Region (NCR), three corridors, including Delhi – Ghaziabad – Meerut, Delhi – Gurugram – SNB – Alwar, and Delhi – Panipat, are prioritized for implementation in Phase-I.
