The Pune Metro’s corridor from Vanaz to Ramwadi will now be fully operational with the opening of Yerwada Metro Station for commercial service on Wednesday (August 21). The station will operate daily from 6 am to 10 pm.

While the Metro service had already been running on the route, Yerwada station had yet to open. With its inclusion, the entire Vanaz to Ramwadi route will be fully functional, connecting Yerwada to the broader Metro network and enhancing commutes for students, professionals, and residents traveling between Yerwada, Pune, and Pimpri-Chinchwad.

Homage to Dandi March

The station’s design pays homage to the historic Dandi March, reflecting a significant moment in India’s freedom struggle. It will serve as a crucial transport link and a tribute to the nation’s heritage.

Maha Metro Managing Director Shravan Hardikar remarked, “We are glad to announce the opening of Yerwada Metro station, marking a significant milestone in our journey to provide efficient and convenient public transport to the citizens of Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad city.”

Pimpri-Chinchwad to Swargate route

The Pimpri-Chinchwad to Swargate route is expected to be fully operational next month, with work on the underground section between Civil Court and Swargate nearing completion. Additionally, extensions are underway for the Metro route from Pimpri-Chinchwad to Nigdi and from Katraj to Swargate.
