PM Modi inaugurated Yellow Line

PM Modi has inaugurated the Yellow Line of the Bangalore Metro Phase-2 project, connecting RV Road (Ragigudda) to Bommasandra. The 19 km route features 16 stations and has been built at a cost of around Rs 7,160 crore.

Vande Bharat trains officially flagged off

PM Modi flagged off three Vande Bharat Express trains from KSR Railway Station in Bengaluru. The new routes include Bengaluru to Belagavi, Amritsar to Sri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra, and Nagpur (Ajni) to Pune.

Thousands of people have gathered here to welcome the Prime Minister. Bengaluru is facing a major infrastructure gap, which is causing endless hours of traffic jams.”

PM Modi arrives in Bengaluru

In a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), PM Modi wrote, “Tomorrow, August 10, I look forward to being with the people of Bengaluru. Three Vande Bharat Express trains will be flagged off from KSR Railway Station to improve connectivity. To enhance Bengaluru city’s infrastructure, the Yellow Line of Bengaluru Metro will be inaugurated. The foundation stone for the third phase of Bengaluru Metro will be laid. A public program in the city will be addressed.”

PM Modi’s full schedule

PM Modi have already flagged off three Vande Bharat Express trains from KSR Bengaluru Railway Station. These are the KSR Bengaluru-Belagavi service, Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra-Amritsar service and Nagpur (Ajni)-Pune service.

With these, India now have 150 Vande Bharat trains in total. Karnataka’s count have risen to 11, while Maharashtra, Punjab, and Jammu & Kashmir will also benefit from better high-speed rail links.

After the train flag-off, PM Modi will open the 19 km Yellow Line of the Bengaluru Metro, running from RV Road (Ragigudda) to Bommasandra. This route connects 16 stations across residential, business, and industrial areas. 

Built under Phase-2 at a cost of around Rs 7,160 crore, it will expand the city’s metro network to over 96 km, helping lakhs of commuters daily. The PM will also take a metro ride from RV Road to Electronic City, a key IT hub.

Foundation stone for Metro phase-3 and public address

PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for Phase-3 of the Bengaluru Metro, worth Rs 15,610 crore. This new phase will add 44 km of elevated tracks and 31 stations, aiming to strengthen public transport and ease traffic in the city.

The Prime Minister will end his visit with a public address at around 1 pm. He is expected to speak about the government’s plans to build world-class transport systems and make life easier for the people of Bengaluru.
