Good news for cricket enthusiasts in Kolkata and its suburbs! Kolkata Metro on Wednesday (March 20) announced special midnight services on the New Garia – Dakshineswar or Blue Line in anticipation of the upcoming IPL match at Eden Gardens featuring the Kolkata Knight Riders on March 23.
Kausik Mitra, Chief Public Relations Officer of Metro Railway, revealed the plan, outlining the provision of two special Metro services post-match.

The first service will depart from Esplanade at 00:15 hrs, bound for Dakshineswar, with an expected arrival time of 00:48 hrs, while the second service will depart from Esplanade at 00:15 hrs, heading towards Kavi Subhash, with an estimated arrival time of 00:48 hrs.
Furthermore, to facilitate smooth travel, booking counters at Esplanade station will exclusively handle the sale of Smart Cards and Tokens during the special midnight services.

In order to ensure seamless connectivity for cricket fans post-match, the train towards Dakshineswar from Esplanade will make stops at all stations en route, as will the train towards Kavi Subhash from Esplanade, informed Mitra.
With Kolkata’s cricket fervor set to peak, these special metro services promise convenience and efficiency for fans returning home after experiencing the thrilling IPL action.
