In view of the Raksha Bandhan holiday and following passenger rush, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Saturday (August 17) announced that it will have additional standby trains available.
According to a statement released by DMRC, to manage the increased commuter volume, DMRC will also deploy extra personnel at stations, set up additional ticket counters, and enhance customer support services.
“In order to facilitate passengers on the festival of Raksha Bandhan on Monday, the DMRC will be ready with additional standby trains on its corridors for induction into services to cater the rush, if required,” the statement said.
Use apps for QR tickets to avoid counter lines
Passengers are encouraged to use mobile apps like DMRC Momentum 2.0, WhatsApp, Paytm, One Delhi, and Amazon to purchase QR tickets online, or to obtain national common mobility cards and smart cards from customer care centers to avoid congestion at ticket counters.
Guards and customer facilitation agents will be stationed at major metro stations to assist and guide commuters throughout the day.
