The NCRTC has successfully initiated power supply to the Anand Vihar and New Ashok Nagar Namo Bharat stations. This brings the commuters a step closer to having a fully functional service.
Trial runs on the new section from New Ashok Nagar to Sahibabad in Delhi are progressing smoothly.
Anand Vihar and New Ashok Nagar stations are being readied for operations, with their auxiliary sub-stations (ASS) now energised to a 33 kV capacity. This provides power to the stations’ electrical systems, AFC systems, and other technical operations.
A 33 kV power cable line has been installed from the Ghaziabad receiving substation (RSS) to the Anand Vihar and New Ashok Nagar stations through the RRTS viaduct and tunnels. Following successful energisation, the power supply is now active at these stations, a statement said.
Power for the Delhi section is temporarily supplied from the Ghaziabad RSS until construction of the Sarai Kale Khan RSS, currently in its final stages, is completed. Once operational, the Sarai Kale Khan RSS will draw power from the Delhi Transco Limited and the Gas Turbine Power Station (GTPS) at IP Estate.
The auxiliary substation (ASS) room at Sarai Kale Khan, the largest station in the Delhi section, has been constructed and is undergoing energisation, according to the statement.
A total of five RSS are being developed along the RRTS corridor from Delhi to Meerut. Among these, the RSS at Ghaziabad, Muradnagar, and Shatabdi Nagar (Meerut) are complete, with the Sarai Kale Khan RSS nearing completion. The fifth RSS, under construction at Modipuram (Meerut), is scheduled to be completed and operational within the targeted timeline, the statement noted.
ASS facilities are being constructed along the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor, including the Meerut Metro, to ensure power supply to all stations, drawing from the nearest designated receiving substations, the statement added.
