Infosys reported fourth consecutive quarter of headcount addition, adding 210 employees during the April-June quarter. This brings the total headcount to 323,788 as of June end. Besides TCS, most IT firms including HCLTech, Wipro, Tech Mahindra, and LTIMindtree reported lower headcount in Q1.
Attrition rate
At Infosys, attrition edged 30 basis points higher sequentially to 14.4%. Utilisation, excluding trainees, also improved to 85.2% from 84.9% in the March quarter.
Goal to hire fresher
The management said that they are on track for their fresher hiring goals for the year. Infosys had earlier said they plan to hire more than 20,000 freshers in FY26. The company had hired 15,000 freshers in the last fiscal year.
