Arnab Goswami, Editor-in-Chief of Times Now and ET Now, has reportedly resigned from the post. Arnab was the founder-editor of Times Now and he had tremendous success, both financially and in terms reach among English news viewers of the country. Arnab was also part of several controversies because of his unorthodox style of anchoring, that many perceived more as noise than news.

However, as Goswami has himself said on several occasions, the journalism he practised at Times Now was by no means conventional. His journalism was confrontational, “from the heart” and out to disrupt the TV news market. His style of journalism may be a subject of debate, but Arnab did disrupt the TV news market. Noting his success, Baijyant Jay Panda, BJD leader, tweeted, “Sometimes an individual’s brand equals, even outgrows, the organisation’s. Has happened in movies, cricket. Has even happened in tv news b4.”

Several other users also took to the twitter, sharing their views on the resignation. Some even made some hilarious comments.

The NewsMinute reported that Goswami could start his own venture. The nation would definitely want to know about it. But before that, why he has resigned?
