Shrikant Bhasi-promoted Carnival Group, after buying out multiplex business of Anil Ambani’s Reliance Group for Rs 700 crore, is back in the news again and this time time for having acquired Leela Infopark, Trivandrum for Rs 142 crore.

Carnival Group had acquired Leela Infopark through share buyout of Aushim Soft, a co-developer of Technopark and part of the Leela Group.

The group, earlier this year, had also acquired Glitz Cinemas, which was a part of Capital 18, a subsidiary of Mukesh Ambani’s Network 18 Media.

Carnival Group chairman Shrikant Bhasi said, “We are already into multiplex, hospitality, media and entertainment and this acquisition was a part of asset creation for the group. We plan to add more office space at Leela Infopark within a year.”

Leela Inforpark was developed in 2008- 09 by Aushim Soft Pvt Ltd. It has two buildings constructed on 3.55 acres of land with office space of 5 lakh sq. ft and car park block of over 1 lakh sq. ft.

Giving further details Carnival Group director finance AC Dinesh said, “The funds were arranged partly through promoter’s equity and partly through Group’s internal accruals. We are expecting lease rental of around Rs 19 Crore per year from Leela Infopark.”
