Omega Seiki Mobility partners Honda Power Pack Energy for swappable battery tech, targets 10,000 vehicles in 2 years

The Japanese company intends to develop an extensive battery swap network, initially in Bengaluru and expanding to other Tier 1 cities.

Omega Seiki Mobility a leading electric vehicle maker has inked a strategic partnership with Honda Power Pack Energy India to incorporate its swappable battery technology in its electric three-wheelers.

As part of the understanding, Honda Power Pack Energy India, a subsidiary of the Honda Motor Co will provide Omega Seiki Mobility with its swappable batteries and establish a network of quick interchange stations in Tier 1 cities across India.

With the Honda e:swap service, Honda Power Pack Energy India says it enables auto rickshaw drivers to conveniently swap discharged batteries (Honda Mobile Power Pack e:) with fully charged ones at strategically located battery stations, often situated at Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL) petrol stations and metro stations. The Japanese company intends to develop an extensive battery swap network, initially in Bengaluru and expanding to other Tier 1 cities.

Omega Seiki Mobility says its upcoming electric three-wheeler (Cargo and Passenger) will be equipped with HEID’s intelligent swappable batteries utilising advanced lithium-ion technology.
