If you’re planning a romantic getaway to Paris or just a fun-filled trip to the city of love, this news could not have come at a better time. On Tuesday, full service carrier, Vistara, announced that it will be launching non-stop flights from Mumbai to Paris from March 28.

What else did Vistara say?

The airline will operate five flights weekly on the new route, utilising a Boeing 787-9 aircraft. Celebrating nine years of operations, Vistara presently conducts flights to Paris from Delhi five times a week and operates long-haul international routes to London and Frankfurt from Mumbai.

This addition of direct air services to Paris is anticipated to strengthen connectivity between India and Europe, aligning with Vistara’s strategy to establish Mumbai as a crucial hub for international travel. Vinod Kannan, the Chief Executive Officer of Vistara, expressed delight in announcing the sixth route to Europe, emphasising the significance of this connection in their broader operational strategy.

Air India-Vistara merger

A noteworthy milestone for the Indian aviation industry is on the horizon as Vistara, a collaboration between Tatas and Singapore Airlines, is poised to unite with Air India by mid-2025. Vinod Kannan, the CEO of Vistara, conveyed optimism, stating that the necessary legal approvals for the merger are expected to be obtained by the middle of 2024.

The Tata Group unveiled the proposed merger in November 2022 with the objective of positioning Vistara as a prominent player in the aviation industry. The aim is to stimulate growth by adopting a consumer-centric approach.
