Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport Terminal 2 (T2) was applauded by renowned cricketer Kevin Pietersen, declaring it as ‘’absolutely world class’’.

He wrote on his account on X, ‘’Just travelled through the brand new airport in Bangalore. It’s World CLASS. It can be put up against any other airport around the world. Wow!!!!’’. Pieterson also shared a video related to it on his account and was in awe of the airport’s infrastructure and artistic outlook.

The cricketer is currently in India and has reached Bengaluru on Tuesday for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

Bengaluru airport officials responded to the cricketer’s tweet and said,’’ Hello@KP24, we are thrilled to receive your outstanding compliment. Our prime concern is always ensuring that our passengers enjoy the finest travel experience’’.

Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru had achieved worldwide acknowledgement with 2023 Prix Versaillies which was conducted by UNESCO. The airport has also bagged an award for the World’s most beautiful airports’ and also honoured with the award for ‘World special prize for an interior 2023’.

Bengaluru Airport was the only Indian airport awarded for its extraordinary architecture and design which is at par with international standards at the Prix Versailles 2023. The judges panel was headed by famous fashion designer Elie Saab.

Earlier, PM Narendra Modi has also congratulated the airport for receiving ‘World’s Special prize for interior in the year 2023.

The airport’s  sustainable design Terminal 2 (T2) has been recognized for its world’s largest terminal pre-certified with a platinum LEED rating hailed  by the US Green Building Council.

The airport is known for its aesthetic designs which showcases human emotions. Every art piece installed at the airport itself narrates a story.
