An American Airlines flight preparing to depart from Tampa International Airport in Florida was grounded when one of its tires blew out on the runway. The incident involved American Airlines Flight 590, bound for Phoenix, which experienced a mechanical issue shortly before takeoff. 

Tampa International Airport confirmed the occurrence took place around 8 am local time. Passengers aboard American Airlines Flight 590 from Tampa to Phoenix faced delays due to a blown landing-gear tire.

A video posted on YouTube captured the moment the airplane, while taxiing on the runway, experienced smoke and the collapse of its right-rear tire. The aircraft eventually halted at the runway’s end, with emergency vehicles arriving promptly thereafter.

Emergency responders were called to the scene shortly before 8 a.m., according to Tampa International Airport spokesman C.J. Johnson.

174 passengers, six crew members on board

American Airlines spokesman Alfredo Garduño confirmed that all 174 passengers and six crew members were safely evacuated from the plane and transported by bus to the terminal. Fortunately, there were no injuries reported. Passengers were subsequently rebooked onto another flight. Johnson assured that the incident did not disrupt other flight operations at Tampa International Airport.
