Baahubali 2: The Conclusion has been released today and a humongous number of people have learnt what they were dying to find out – ‘Why Kattappa killed Baahubali?’. While we will not be spoiling the viewing pleasure of all those who are still to find this ‘truth’ out for themselves after actually watching the film by revealing the answer, we will say that the wait is worthwhile and that they should make sure they do not find out by chance or see it revealed by chance via the social media or a pesky neighbour or relative. However, here we will reveal one magnificent piece of news. And that is, Prabhas, Rana Daggubati starrer Baahubali 2: The Conclusion opening day occupancy rate is one of the highest ever recorded in history at over 80%. According to Bollywood Hungama, the crowds have been trooping into the theatres in droves, show after show, reminding many of the good old days before the advent of the mobile phones and computers when the only sources of entertainment were TV and cinema. They are coming in anticipation and leaving quite happy, clearly thrilled by the experience they have just gone through. People are also seen shouting some of the standout dialogues in the movie uttered by the superstars. Clearly, the movie is more than just a paisa wasool film!

Now, very few films have managed to hype up their release so much as to generate an 80% and over occupancy rate. The releases by the three Khans, Salman, Shah Rukh and Aamir Khan as well as Akshay Kumar have been able to get close to this and sometimes match it on day 1, but that in no way takes away any credit from Baahubali 2: The Conclusion.
Now, how exactly this will translate into box office collections remains to be seen, but figuring from earlier releases, it is likely that the Baahubali 2 film will generate a figure in excess of Rs 50 crore. However, some reports are playing it safe and saying the likelihood of a Rs 35 crore plus figure is more in the realm of reality. The film is South India based and the likelihood of Bollywood fans trooping into cinemas in big enough numbers is debatable.
The film has set itself up well for the days ahead too. The fans are happy and that means the word-of-mouth boost for the film is a certainty and that virtually means fast fattening box office collections.
