In an effort to improve the power situation in the state Haryana Power Utilities have commissioned 22 new substations. Augmening the 35 existing substations and constructed 153.2 kilometres long transmission lines with an investment of Rs 143 crore in October 2007 it has tried to tackle the power woes.
While stating this on Monday, a spokesman of the Haryana Power Utilities said that the new substations which were commissioned included a 220 kv level substation at Daultabad and four 132 kv substations with about 15, 33 kv level substations at various places in the state.
He said that augmentation covered four 220 kv substations at Palla, Rania, Nuna Majra (Bahadurgarh) and Rewari, seven 132 kv substations at Kosli, Newal, tosham, Barwala, Kalanaur, Pali or Gothra and Uchana, six 66 kv substations at Barnala, Gangori, Basantpur, Sector?1 and 3, Panchkula and Barwala.
While 18 existing substations of 33 kv were augmented. During October one 220 kv substation at Daultabad and two of 33 kv substation at Chhattar and Lochhab were commissioned and 6 existing substation were augmented while 35.3 kilometre long transmission lines were constructed at a total cost of Rs 35.59 crore.
He said that the expanded transmission and distribution network had enhanced system reliability. The average transmission system availability in the state, as per Central Electricity Regulatory Commission calculative formula this year was 99.61%, he added.
