Shubham stars in Kundan Academy win
Riding high on Shubham’s all-round performance (41 and four wickets), Kundan Cricket Academy thrashed Dev Samaj Cricket Academy by seven wickets to enter the final of the Under-12 Kundan Cricket Trophy played at Kundan Cricket Academy grounds on Friday. Batting first, Dev Samaj Academy made 84 in the allotted 20 overs. Sunil top scored with 32 runs. Sachin and Shubham shared eight wickets between them as they wrecked the opposition batting with their incisive bowling. In reply, Kundan Academy posted 87 for 3 in 13 overs. Shubham top scored with 41 blistering runs, while Nipun Pandita contributed 22 runs. Paras bagged two wickets.
Cricket meet on the anvil
Kundan Cricket Academy will organise Under-14 Cricket Tournament. As many as eight teams will take part in the tournament. Entries can be submitted to Dhanwant on 9988025685. All the matches will be played on league basis. Entries close on Monday.
Mann elected chairman
DS Mann was elected the chairman of the Ball Badminton Sports Promotion Association after a meeting was held on Friday. Harbhushan Gulai was unanimously elected the vice-chairman, Jagdeep Chopra the president and PS Brar was elected the vice-president. Rajiv Tandon, Sanjay Sharma and Gurcharan Singh were the joint-secretary and JS Lamba was elected the general secretary. The executive members elected were Palinder Singh, Kamaljit Saini, Surinder Singh Bhandari and GP Bal. Naresh Kumar was elected the chairman of the technical committee. The members were Pardeep Kumar, Parvesh Kumar, Gurpreet Singh and Amandeep Singh.
New Public School-18, AKSIPS to lock horns in final
New Public School, Sector 18 will take on Ajit Karam Singh International Public School, Sector 41 in the final after recording wins in their semi-final encounters during the Inter-School Table Tennis Tournament for Boys Under-14 conducted by Manav Mangal School, Sector 21 at Table Tennis hall, Sector 23, on Friday. AKSIPS-41 defeated St Joseph’s School, Sector 44 by 3-0 while New Public School-18 recorded an easy 3-1 win over DAV Public School, Sector 8.
Football meet tomorrow
Studds and Balls (SWB) will organise ?Super Sunday Soccer?at Sector 17 Football stadium on August 22 from 7 am onwards in Chandigarh. The 3-a-side football tournament will also give opportunity to players to show their individual skills.
