Betting big on the Indian market, the global food and facilities management major Sodexo, popularly known for its service vouchers and cards, is planning to provide full-range of services for the country’s corporate hospitals.

The company, which expects to garner double-digit revenue over the next couple of years, is in talks with close to 150 hospitals across the country including some of the well-known corporate brands in Tamil Nadu.

Sodexo India vice-president (marketing) Jeff Brades told FE, ?We are gearing up to offer a full range of services from cleaning to laundry management and we would be able to roll out the services very soon.? The food and facilities management company which claims to be the market leader in India had reached the 3 million-customers a day mark through its slew of services.

?We have 100 million euro operations in India which constitutes roughly around 10% market share and we are planning to introduce more corporate services soon. India is the fourth largest market for us after the US, the UK and France,? he said. As part of its expansion plan, the company is looking to ramp up its headcount from 30,000 spread across 11 centres at least by a few hunderds. The company had acquired Radhakrishna Hospitality Services, a food sevices firm, in 2009 and formed a separate vertical called Sodexo Facilities Management Services India.

?The acquisition had given us increased scale in the market and helped company offer better services,? he said, adding ?It will be rolling out services in the healthcare and educational sectors in a big way.?

Recently, Sodexo’s global management committee has identified India as one of its top three growth markets in Asia. Globally, the company has set an annual average revenue growth target of 7% and an operating margin of 6% by 2015. As part of its new positioning, it is seeking to be the strategic partner of companies and organisations by deploying comprehensive service solutions. The company had renamed two of its main activities to On-site Service Solutions (previously Food and Facilities Management and Motivation Solutions (Service Vouchers and Cards) in order to reflect the new brand positioning.

?To reach our goals we have chosen to go in for organic growth and we would like to grow steadily in personal and home solutions front as well,? Jeff said.

Sodexo has joined hands with ECO Kitchen, an NGO, to make quality food available to more underprivileged women. ECO Kitchen, an initiative of Sunithi Solomon provides food at subsidised rates to underprivileged women. Under the Sodexo-ECO pact, Sodexo would exclusively run the kitchen for supplying the meals.
