The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex rose by nearly 105 points to scale yet another high of
14,900 points in early trade Wednesday on sustained buying by funds in heavyweight stocks.
The BSE-30 share Sensex, which had gained 142.25 points on Tuesday, gathered another 104.57 points to scale the record intra-session high of 14,901.08 in the first five minutes of trading.
Similarly, the wide-based National Stock Exchange’s Nifty was up by 28.90 points, or 0.57 per cent at 4,386.45, an all-time peak.
Stock brokers said most of index-related stocks were in the positive zone with sizeable gains, lifting the Sensex to the high.
Meanwhile, stocks of Vishal Retail were listed at Rs 472.50 and soared to Rs 775 against the offered price of Rs 270.
