The Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) energised its second unmanned 33 KV substation in Rohtak on Tuesday. It has been commissioned at Officer?s Colony, Delhi Road at a cost of Rs 2.50 crore.

A spokesman of the nigam said UHBVN has made a provision to control the sub station from a remote location by computers. The remote control hardware and software for controlling this sub station have been placed in 33 KV sub station Model Town. The real? time data of each feeder and the transformer would be available to the controlling authorities. The remote control hub records all events in real time and enables preventive action when electrical parameters go beyond safety levels, thus minimising damage to costly electrical equipment.

The state?s and town?s first unmanned 33 kv sub-station was set up at Bal Bhawan, Rohtak and was being controlled through remote system placed at 33 kv sub-station, Model Town. Thus, 33 kv sub-station at Model Town would be the state?s first 33 level sub-station to control two unmanned sub-stations located in two different directions. Besides, it would continue supply of electricity to the consumers through its conventional mode also.

He said the nigam has erected 2.5 kilometre long line to connect it with 132 kv sub-station, Mahrishi Dayanand University, Rohtak.
