The Public Private Partnership Appraisal Committee, under the chairmanship of finance secretary Ashok Chawla, has cleared four port expansion projects. The Rs 4,120.29-crore projects are development of mega container terminal at Chennai Port at an estimated cost of Rs 3,125 crore, a multi-purpose berth at Paradip Port in Orissa to handle clean cargo at a cost of Rs 387.31 crore, second north cargo berth at Tuticorin Port in Tamil Nadu for handling bulk cargo at Rs 332.16 crore and container terminal at the New Mangalore Port at Rs 275.82 crore, an official statement said.
