Thirty-two officials of the customs & central excise department have been selected for Presidential honours for their service record, the Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) stated. Late Narabadeshwar Singh, a former assistant commissioner of central excise (Varanasi division), who was killed while tracking down tax evaders, has been posthumously conferred President?s award for exceptionally meritorious service rendered at the risk of the life. Additional director at the Directorate of Export Promotion Gurdeep Singh was granted the presidential award for specially distinguished record of service. Additional director general at Directorate of Systems & Data Management T Dave was also granted the award for specially distinguished record of service.
