Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh are key markets for the growth of mobile phones, a leading manufacturer has said. ?Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh are strategic markets for mobile growth and they will significantly contribute to capturing a significant portion of over 33,000 crore Indian mobile handset market in the initial year,? said Avinash Jain, Managing Director, Arise India. The company is one of India’s largest integrated manufacturers of electrical and products, including consumer durables, inverters, batteries, gas and electric geysers.
The company is planning to invest R300 crores over the next three years on strengthening its market outreach, consolidating after-sales service and enhancing the innovative product line-up for Indian consumers. Jain said that in the initial year, the target is to achieve a R250-crore turnover, R500 crore in the second year and R1,000 crore by 2014 for the mobile division.? The company targets to capture 2-3% of total mobile handsets market in couple of years.
Arise India, a leader in electrical and consumer electronics for over 25 years in India, has announced its foray into the mobile phones domain. The company launched 15 new handsets ranging between R990 and R4,000. The handsets will be marketed under the brand ? ?Arise Mobiles?.
