Mentha oil gained Rs 3.50 to Rs 885 per kg in futures trading on Tuesday as traders enlarged their positions on the back of pick-up in demand.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in August rose by Rs 3.50, or 0.40 per cent, to Rs 885 per kg, with a business turnover of 44 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in June gained Rs 2.20, or 0.25 per cent, to Rs 872.20 per kg in 283 lots.
Analysts attributed the rise in mentha oil futures prices to fresh positions created by speculators on the back of pick-up in domestic demand from pharmaceutical units.
