The Mayawati government on Friday constituted a state advisory council (SAC) that will review and monitor the implementation of government policies, developmental projects and law-and-order situation. It has appointed Satish Chandra Mishra as its chairman.
The chief secretary, principal secretaries of finance, home, planning and law will be the members of the council but they as well as the chairman will not get any salary or honorarium, a government order said.
The meeting of SAC will be held on the directives of the chief minister or its chairman and it will also advise the state government on its policies and legal matters besides other responsibilities given by the chief minister.
Mishra, who is a Rajya Sabha member, had resigned from the Mayawati cabinet early this week as he was not a member of the state assembly or the legislative council.
