The Delhi Minorities Commission today expressed unhappiness over “decline” in grant of loans to minorities in various areas of the city.

Chairman of Delhi Minorities Commission Kamal Faruqui, speaking at a meeting of State Level Bankers Committee, said the recent statistics showed that the total loan amount sanctioned by banks to the minorities has gone down significantly.

A release issued by the Commission said Faruqui had also raised the issue of some banks “unofficially declaring certain areas as negative areas for issuing credit cards, for opening bank branches or opening ATMs”.
