Vijay Mallya-promoted Kingfisher Airlines commenced direct daily flights to Singapore from India’s commercial hub Mumbai.
“Kingfisher Airlines will operate daily flights between Singapore and Mumbai…The start of Kingfisher Airlines’ operations at Changi Airport signals the airline’s confidence in the traffic growth potential between Singapore and India,” Singapore Changi Airport said in a statement.
It said with the commencement of Kingfisher Airlines’s service, the number of flights on the Singapore-Mumbai route has increased by 25 per cent to 70 per week.
Kingfisher Airlines Chairman and CEO Vijay Mallya said, “I am delighted that Kingfisher Airlines will now be flying to Singapore and offer daily flights to Mumbai.”
At present, eight airlines fly between Singapore and 11 cities in India on 308 weekly scheduled flights.
