Putting these into practice is a great responsibility and calls for professionalism and commitment of the highest order; it needs constant application of process excellence, innovation, and creativity ? ingredients that I thrive on.
Most inspirational moment: In our industry, time is a perishable commodity. There are various instances where our solutions have added value and brought success to customer businesses. However, the most inspirational movements have been those when we have involved ourselves with disaster inflicted communities. Be it the Bhuj earthquake or the recent floods at Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka (2009) our Disaster Response Team volunteers (DHL and Blue Dart) were activated immediately and delivered relief materials to the affected thousands. Such instances where organisational humility and compassion is exhibited, fill me with unbounded pride of being a Blue Darter.
The turning point in my career:The turning point in my career came when I joined Blue Dart. There is lot more to this industry than meets the eye. It is both a thrill and a challenge to market a product that is intangible whilst working alongside the finest professionals in the industry.
The first thing I do when I reach office: Pick up a copy of Daily News, our internal news letter that gives an update on the various activi-ties of and in Blue Dart along with important manage-ment and operational announcements. Be it rain, storm, riot or a normal sunny day, this is printed all days of the year and is the heart-beat of every Blue Darter.
My favourite social networking site: Facebook, though rather very infrequently, I am also active on Linkedin for professional networking.
Brands I wear: For weekdays they are Arrow, Louis Phillipe and Van Heusen. For weekends they are Tommy Hilfiger, Levis, Zara and Benetton. My favourite accessories brands include Bulchee, Omega, and Mont Blanc.
