Haryana strongman Om Parkash Chautala led, The Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) has demanded stern action against the Bhupinder Singh Hooda government for its consistent violations of Model Code of Conduct after the elections have been announced.

According to party?s state president Ashok Arora, ?the CM and other ministers have been consistenly violating Model Code of Conduct by issuing backdated cheques from their discretionary quotas?. He said that all this is being done to affect the election process and is a grave violation of the Model Code of Conduct.

Arora disclosed that state Parliamentary secretary Dura Ram had distributed cheques from his discretionary quota on March 4, in various public functions. These functions have been covered in various newspapers on March 4 and 5. The newspapers have referred to the gross election code violations, he added. Cheques worth more than Rs 31 lakh were distributed in these public functions including 1 two -lakh cheque to a local Dharamshala, he further elaborated.

The distribution of cheques from his discretionary quota amount to grave violation and disregard to the code of conduct, so case should be registered against him . Dura Ram is not a lone case but all other ministers, Parliamentary secretary including CM have been issuing the back dated cheques from their discretionary quotas, Arora added.

The officers of different departments of the Haryana government, Corporations and Boards have also been issuing backdated transfers, promotions and appointments to lure voters, which is urgently needed to be checked in the interest of unbiased, free and fair conduct of elections, the former transport minister said.

Allotment process to allot industrial plots by Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) is also on to influence the voters, Arora alleged. He said that Congress leaders? recommendations were being considered in this allotment interview, which was conducted even on March 6.
