naseba?s prestigious Women in Leadership Forum will be held in New Delhi, India from May 6th-7th 2010. The forum will be attended by highly successful women representing multiple industries, with the aim of addressing key issues in business, initiating strategies to enhance the role of women in the community and encouraging them to fill high-profile business positions.

The Women in Leadership Forum comes at a crucial and potentially exciting time for women in India. According to recent reports from the World Economic Forum (WEF), in terms of economic participation by women in 2009, India came close to the bottom end of the rankings ? 114th out of 134 countries. However, this was an improvement on 2008, and can only serve as an incentive for Indian women to unite and continue to make headway in this area.

Commenting on the Women in Leadership Forum, Dr. Bedi, India?s first and highest ranking woman in the Indian Police Service and speaker at the Women in Leadership forum said, ?This is the second time I will be attending the forum and I feel incredibly blessed to be surrounded by successful women championing the cause of India?s influential women of the future.?

Dr. Bedi will be joined by co-founder, chairperson and CEO of KyaZoonga, Neetu Bhatia, along with well-known author, founder and honourary president of the European Professional Women?s Network, Avivah Wittenberg-Cox, both of whom will also be speaking at the forum.

The forum will also host the exclusive WIL India Awards in recognition of outstanding and admirable Indian business women. The awards are open for nominations in commendable categories across all industries and include Most Women-Friendly Employer, as well as Indian Business Woman of the Year; Woman Initiative of the Year; Leading Woman in the Public or Social Sector; Leading Woman in Media; Leading Woman in Human Resources; Leading Woman in Financial Sector; Leading Woman in Healthcare; Leading Woman in IT and Leading Woman Entrepreneur of the Year.

In response, the Women in Leadership Forum and WIL India Awards will urge Indian organisations to wake up and take definite steps towards creating a brighter future for women.

The dynamic agenda will unite India?s most influential and successful women for roundtable discussions and five-star networking sessions, giving them the opportunity explore and dissect the most pressing challenges facing them. Above all, the forum will represent and reward women who understand the urgency of working towards creating responsible, united, forward-thinking, successful environments that provide real value to every woman leader.
