Alex Chapman, the former husband of alleged Russian spy, Anna Chapman, revealed to the British media details of the couple’s private life.
“Anya was great in bed and she knew exactly what to do,” Alex, who met Anna in 2001 in UK, told ‘News of the World’.
He married Anna, whose real name is Anya Kushchenko, in 2002 in England and they were together for four years.
“I hadn’t met anybody like her before…I was infatuated with her,” he was quoted as saying by the paper.
Last week, ten people living in the US were accused of being Russian spies, which sparked memories of the decade long Cold War between US and Soviet Union.
Out of 10 accused, Anna, 28, has received a lot of attention for being something out of a movie plot with an aim to mingle with business and political elite of New York.
Anna’s lawyer has said his client is “embarrassed” by the photos making the rounds in the media, which have been pulled of Facebook.
“She was embarrassed by some of the photos that were obviously taken from her Facebook pages,” the lawyer said.
“The truth is she’s probably no different than your typical single 28-year-old woman in New York City. She runs a successful business, goes out at night. She dates men, enjoys a social life.”
Alex, 30, told Britain’s Daily Telegraph that few years after their marriage his ex-wife developed a penchant for an expensive lifestyle.
“She fell in with a group of people who had a lot of influence. She would go to film premieres and became arrogant and obnoxious, always going on about powerful people she was meeting,” he said.
Anna, who is being held in a federal prison in New York is reportedly scared of being deported and contacted her father, Vasily Kuschenko, who is suspected of being a former KGB agent himself.
Chapman said Anna told him that her father had been high up in the ranks of the KGB.
“Her father controlled everything in her life, and I felt she would have done anything for her dad,” he said.
After their break up in 2005, Anna went to Russia and then moved to the US. Her ex-hubby said her business of an internet estate agency had been going slowly but suddenly it appeared to pick up.
“Clearly a lot of money had been pumped into the business from somewhere, but I couldn’t work it out,” he said.
Alex managed to speak to his ex-wife by cellphone even though she is being held in the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, according to the New York Post.
British authorities are currently investigating whether Anna was spying in the UK during her time spent there.
