Hong Kong shares ended marginally lower on Tuesday, as wary investors shed some positions ahead of a U.S. Fed meeting, while China Shenhua Energy extended its fall.
The benchmark Hang Seng Index <.HSI> fell for a third straight session and shed 0.27 percent or 56.17 points to 21,022.93. The China Enterprises Index <.HSCE> of top locally listed mainland Chinese stocks fell 0.26 percent to 11,940.47.
China Shenhua slipped 2.7 percent, extending Monday’s 3.9 percent drop, after announcing a lower-than-forecast quarterly results.
