Hewlett Packard (HP) plans to expand its presence in Punjab by tapping the small & medium enterprises (SME) potential as part of its strategy to concentrate more in tier-III and tier-IV cities.
The company intends to launch customer and channel initiatives for its imaging and printing customers.
Though company officials did not disclose investment details, they said a considerable amount would be spent to increase its penetration in the north market.
The company?s marketing strategy would include roadshows, retail channel route, special training programmes for exporters and travel agents. It also plans to have a separate financing programme for the SMEs.
Country category manager, Ajay Rawal told FE, ?We see a huge potential in smaller cities and HP, which is the market leader intends to push this growth momentum further. The company plans to hold a number of service camps in north to tap the burgeoning SME market?.
Designed to empower small and medium enterprises, HP has launched a 360-degree initiative to encourage companies to adopt technology that makes a difference to their business.
The company will launch free service camps for those who own HP?s laser printers and attractive offers on purchase of select cartridges and buyback offers.
Rawal told FE HP is focusing on regional markets to accelerate the growth of sectors across verticals. The company was making world-class technology more accessible to the customers in Punjab through its star products like HP laser jet and colour laser jet.
Some products that were great on low budget, easy to install and require low-maintenance for imaging and printing needs were being launched in northern region.
The company has already introduced more than 25 new printing solutions including new web-based printing tools. Other offerings include HP LaserJet multifunction printers (MFPs), an enterprise class scanner for document capture and specialised industry solutions.
Rawal said, ?HP?s colour printing solutions are designed for sectors like hospitality, healthcare, exports, advertising and marketing and manufacturing sector. SMEs can save space by using a single printing solution?.
The company in association with its channel partners has planned for Punjab initiatives like HP Instant-on Technology, Mono Spherical toner cartridges and HP carbon footprint calculator.
Rawal concluded that the world?s largest technology company, HP would provide to northern states ? a simple technology that will span printing, personal computing, software services and IT infrastructure to penetrate upcountry market?.
