Garware Polyster Limited on Tuesday launched Glassafe, the latest breakthrough in high-class glass safety films. Launching the new product at Floor Square, Megh Doot Deherkar, general manager Garware Polyester Limited brought home the idea of glass safety through films, a concept which is catching up in the west very fast.

Giving a live demonstration of the product along with Floor Square director Umesh Ghai Deherkar said, “, “In the present day scenario with vandalism, looting and other forms of violence becoming fairly common, it is important to think of post destruction safety. This causes more damage than the incident itself. ‘Glassafe’, added Deherkar, provides critical integrity to the glass material, which stands firmly bonded. It offers additional benefits like enhancement of looks, aesthetics, screening from solar rays and scratch-less finish.”

Umesh Ghai of Floor Square highlighted the logic of bringing out a product, which is safety intensive and adds value to the glass itself. He said that Glassafe could play an important role to a glass-centric world, which includes enclosures and buildings from hospitals to gymnasia and from corporate offices to schools. He also pointed on the high credentials of the product with Glass and Glazing Federation of UK certified tests vouching for it.

Glassafe product range includes bomb blast films as well. With glass furniture and glass fittings being increasingly used in construction, the safety concerns are fully addressed by a product like Glassafe, Deherkar later added.

It minimizes the risk factor, as the glass and its splinters hardly scatter, and also enhances the aesthetic appeal of the glass. The other benefit of the product is the absorption of 98% ultra violet rays and saving upto 75% energy, said Deherkar.
