Kishore Biyani, CEO of Future group, on Saturday said the company will like to enter the power, oil & gas sectors in the next four to five years.
Biyani said the company may explore those states where there is surplus power generation for power trading or work ways to reduce the cost of electricity. ?The next bet would be petroleum,? he added. However, he was cautious and did not discuss about the investments required or the strategies involved. He said the plans are still in the dream? stage.
Biyani was in Hyderabad to attend the company?s launch into the mobile telephony services in association with Tata Teleservices. The new scheme promises to give free talk time to customers who shop in the Future Group stores.
?The scheme can be availed across the 18 circles where we offer our GSM services. The existing customers of Tata Teleservices cannot avail the service and will be available to only new subscribers until the onset of mobile number portability. Customers will be able to recharge at any Future Group?s retail network stores in over 75 cities and 65 rural destinations across the country,? Anil Sardana, managing director, Tata Teleservices Private said.
?Of the approximately 200 million footfalls we get, every year, we hope to convert 15% to 20% of them into users of the new scheme,? Kishore Biyani said.
