The member of Parliament Deepender Singh Hooda on Thursday said the first unit of 500 mw of Indira Gandhi Super Thermal Power Plant at Jharli will be ready for synchronisation within next two-and-a-half months. Hooda said the boiler light of this unit had been made in start-up mode. The procedure of power generation would be examined technically and later within a period of two-and-a-half months the unit would start generation of power. He said the opposition leaders would not be left with any opportunity to politicise the power shortage issue as Haryana would become a power surplus state in the near future. He said the 1,500 mw Indira Gandhi Super Thermal Power Plant being set up under the auspices of Aravali Power Company, NTPC, HPGCL and IPGCL was a step by to reduce power shortage.
