As part of Expedia?s strategy to expand its customer base in India, the company announced the launch of Travel Agent Affiliate Program (TAAP) through which offline travel agents in India will gain direct access to Expedia?s comprehensive global inventory and earn commission on any bookings made via the programme.

All a travel agent needs to do is register online at Expedia.co.in and he will be able to check the availability of flights, hotel rooms and more, to make bookings in real time, as well as benefit from fast and simple site functionality.

Prices and products shown on the agency?s booking will be identical to those shown on the consumer site allowing the agent to compete directly with online prices, while earning a commission. In fact TAAP members will be able to earn a commission on processed bookings regardless of whether the consumer?s credit card is used or the agency?s card is used to process the transaction.

Giving details of this programme, Stuart Udy, Expedia Manager of Travel Agent Distribution Asia Pacific, said, ?Expedia is always looking for new and innovative ways of reaching out to travelers.?

Originally launched in Italy in 2002, the Expedia TAAP has been extremely successful in Europe, North America and Pacific with over 8000 Travel Agency members currently enlisted. Expedia has also appointed Discover The World Travel Marketing as its Sales and Support partner for the launch and management of the TAAP programme in India.
